Lori Lazzari, the child guidance specialist at Arlington Elementary, is the state’s 2024 School Social Worker of the Year. This is her 31st year with Fayette County Public Schools and 28th year at Arlington. Lazzari has also served as a school social worker and Family Resources and Youth Services Center (FRYSC) coordinator. Her latest honor came from the Kentucky Association of School Social Work.
Lazzari earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Bellarmine University and her master’s in social work and juris doctorate degrees at the University of Kentucky. She has been a part-time instructor for 25 years at UK, where she has taught and designed many classes for their College of Social Work.
